ACCIONA was one of the lead sponsors of the 1st East Africa Infrastructure Project Finance Conference held on 20 and 21 February in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.
The event, organised by the consultancy firm Lean Africa Consultants Limited, allowed construction companies, insurance companies and government organisations to exchange ideas and experiences as a way of identifying new long-term and sustainable infrastructure financing mechanisms to ensure greater investment in the East Africa region.
The two-day conference analysed opportunities and the ways in which the region, together with the principal agents in the infrastructure sector, can reduce the risks of the different parties involved in each project, achieving better returns for everyone.
ACCIONA was present at the event with a stand, as well as giving a talk about the company’s international experience in the infrastructure sector, with special emphasis on concessions.Its presence on the African continent, especially in Kenya, was also a key aspect of the company’s talk.
The ultimate aim of the East Africa Infrastructure Project Finance Conference is to attract greater investment to accelerate the development of sustainable infrastructures in the region.It was also an excellent opportunity for those present to learn about the different proposals, making it an ideal platform for building relationships between investors and construction companies.
